Rishita Shah

Rishita completed her PhD at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Her thesis work focused on understanding the role of histone deacetylases in early development and how they function in human birth defects. In the Galloway lab, Rishita is focused on understanding the mechanisms behind tendon injury and repair. She has developed a model for studying tendon injuries in adult zebrafish. Her project aims to discover what molecular processes give fish the unique ability to regenerate injured tendons and how this could be applied to repair human tendonopathies.
