Nidha Ismail Ameerappa is from Kerala, a state in the South-west region of India. Nidha obtained her Masters Degree in Medical Microbiology from Christian Medical College, Vellore,Tamil Nadu, India. At this Institution, she continued to work in the Department of Clinical Microbiology on Immunological and Epidemiological studies of autoimmune diseases. Afterwards, she interned in the lab Fred Ausubel at MGH and was involved in high-throughput RNAi screening of Enterococcus faecalis infection in C. elegans model organism. In the Galloway lab, she is studying the molecular mechanisms of tendon and ligament cell induction using zebrafish and stem cells.
